Tomorrow's Vintage

--

Nigel Cabourn is an enigma of British fashion - a savant of fine clothing. Creating tomorrow’s vintage, Cabourn has garnered a reputation of honest, sustainable (although never marketed as such), sturdy garments that will last a lifetime, and then some. Timeless designs brought to life with impeccable quality, Nigel Cabourn demands attention to often overlooked detail, and with an extensive personal collection of vintage workwear and military garments, the character and renown of his pieces allow for in-depth technicality and precision in creating new works.

This season, we are delighted to welcome a collaboration with Closed to Envoy of Belfast – a label that describe themselves as ‘French imagination, Italian craftsmanship and German tradition’. With a flair for contemporary design and relaxed denim, Closed merges perfectly with Nigel Cabourn’s aptitude for utilitarian and vintage military uniform. Navy and military green govern the naval inspired collection with cargo pants and coveralls designed for everyday, while jackets are where this collaboration really comes to life. The Patriot Blue Gown Coat is practical and rich, adding just enough flamboyance with its blue and grey diamond pattern without overwhelming. The Reversible Shearling Coat will be an advantage to any wardrobe this winter – wear it over the Forest Coverall for a laidback vibe, or pair it with your favourite dress and boots for a creative take on the mod military look.

Nigel Cabourn X Closed may have only collaborated for a season, but they have accomplished something remarkable – classic clothing that doesn’t feel like a throwback, nor a flash in the pan hit that will be sort lived. You’ll be reaching for your Pilot Jacket time and time again, because future classics never go out of style.
