Founded in 1984, Kapital was named after its place of origin, the denim capital of Japan, Kojima. Evolving from a sewing factory with a devotion to handcrafted objects and craftsmanship, the brand takes inspiration from traditional clothing and workwear from around the world. Bringing together traditional Japanese weaving and dyeing skills with heritage production techniques borrowed from vintage Americana, Kapital offers a fresh understanding of a well known and loved aesthetic.
