Engineered Garments SS16 Collection

Engineered Garments SS16 takes American Sportswear to a familiar nostalgic turn from last FW15’s conversation with 1980’s NYC Designer roots. The palette has been freshened up with navy, blue and white an American sentiment from a memory of the other side of the 1980’s, a more wholesome everyman. The language of EG has been very subtle through the years but it’s a blueprint to add new reverence to a wardrobe that is a natural mold for everyone, effortless. Taking American Sportswear’s heritage and blending it with Low Tech-Tech, Workwear and Resortwear, not centralizing on any direct theme to take the stiffness out of Americana. Taking serious items like classic suiting and pairing it with novelty items like coveralls to create a more blended wardrobe. Fabric highlights include novelty prints with tulips, daisy’s, bark cloths, diagonal batik’s and a few geometric jacquards amongst others. One deadstock fabric in particular with a dolphin print is one that plays an homage to an America that has been forgotten, a nautical print that almost becomes a camo. Jacket lengths are longer and shorts are shorter to create a new ratio to every day wear. A blueprint for all walks of life to take and make there own.
